Invited Tutorial: Analog and Mixed Signal Verification
نویسنده
چکیده
More and more electronic systems have components that are not purely digital. Verification of such systems is a much less developed discipline than the digital equivalents and the application of formal (mathematically complete) techniques is a nascent area. In this paper, we will discuss the nature of analog circuit design and describe the way verification is done in practice today. We will describe some “formal” approaches coming from the analog design community. We will describe some of the approaches to formal verification that have been presented in recent literature. Finally, we will mention some areas where there are opportunities for future work. Keywords-verification; formal methods; analog circuits

متن کاملModeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO
The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...

متن کاملAnalog Simulation Meets Digital Verification – A Formal Assertion Approach for Mixed-Signal Verification
Functional and formal verification are important methodologies for complex mixed-signal designs. But there exists a verification gap between the analog and digital blocks of a mixed-signal system. Our approach improves the verification process by creating mixed-signal assertions which are described by a combination of digital assertions and analog properties. The proposed method is a new assert...
